Apartment, Car and Birthday!

So it's not exactly new news but Michael and I moved into our own apartment in February (we were in a corporate apartment when we first arrived in CO). We really like having our own place filled with our own belongings. We have two bedrooms, two bathrooms, beautiful kitchen, fireplace and views of the mountains! Rupert likes having more room to run around and explore. It's starting to feel like home now that we're able to add our personal touches to the apartment. Visitors welcome!

In addition to the new apartment, we also bought a black 2008 Ford Edge. It's great to have a second vehicle, especially since I've been under house arrest while Michael is at work. Now I can finally get out there and find a job for myself! I think being a housewife will be more rewarding when we have kids (no offense Rupert). I think Michael's favorite feature of the Edge is that it came equipped with Microsoft Sync (hands free phone and MP3). Mine is the almost full roof sunroof!

I also celebrated my 25th birthday Friday. I told Michael that I think I've reached my quarter-life crisis as I'm totally obsessed with 90's music right now. Michael made reservations for us and Justin and Melissa downtown at a Mexican place called Tamayo. Afterwords, we stopped at a few places in the Larimer area. Lots of shops and restaurants to check out!

No other news to report for now but stay tuned!

New puppy. New job. New state.

On December 26th Michael and I got a new addition to our family, Rupert, a Welsh Terrier puppy! He has been a joy and a handful! He is four and a half months old and has already lost two teeth! He is still very curious and playful. His favorite toys are is red squeaky football and his Kong Wubba. House training has been a challenge and I recently bought a bell to try and bell train him. Rupert is also very friendly and insists on saying hello to every person or dog he sees.

Michael recently started his job at the National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL) in Golden, CO and is really enjoying it so far. This prompted the relocation to Colorado and we are now residing in Highlands Ranch. I love this area because it has great views of the mountains and downtown Denver and is also close to various restaurants, shopping and parks. Michael likes it here too with the exception of his 25 minute commute to work. It's also nice to be close to our friends Justin and Melissa. We see them frequently which Rupert also enjoys because he has a playmate, Izzy. It has been making the transition from Wisconsin to Colorado easier knowing people in the area!

So far the weather has been great since we've gotten here. The temperatures have been consistently in the 40s-60 degrees. It has snowed twice and Michael only felt the impact of the weather on one of those days when it took him over two hours to get to work. The great thing about Colorado is that if it does snow, it usually melts within the next few days. We've taken advantage of the nicer days. We ventured up to Red Rocks with Rupert and walked the trails.

We miss our family and friends but hope visitors will come out soon!
